I just noticed that Ascend Acoustics is having their Black Friday sale which includes the SIERRA-2EX V2 PAIR for $1,443. The only negative is this sale is only for the Piano Black model.
Some of you have heard these at my home as they are currently my daily driver in my living room. Dave Fabricant, who is owner and designer at Ascend Acoustics, has been refining this model for decades and has gone through about a half dozen upgrades over the years. The most recent upgrade was a crossover enhancement that resulted from his purchase of the Klippel speaker measurement system that simulates an anechoic measurement room in an ordinary room.
The speaker features a RAAL ribbon tweeter made in Serbia and used in many other designs. The Woofer is a customized SEAS design that has unbelievable low frequency extension. The specs show that the woofer is down -6db at 42hz. That is unbelievable consider the overall size. I can tell you that it is really audible in the low frequency.
If a speaker of this size appeals to you, I highly recommend it.
