••For someone who needs a basic, low-priced amp stand, I picked up a Monoprice stand with Amazon credit card points, $39 bucks. I needed a a solo amp stand for running other stereo amps on the floor in my multichannel room, and I had no spare BDI premium stands left. ••The Monoprice is a black finished, particle board shelf stand with metal legs and included spikes. It is claimed to hold up to 150 pounds. It was easy to assemble, needing no tools whatsoever, and it is robust enough for my classic Mac Mc275 at 66 pounds. Plenty wide and deep. It is 4.7 inches tall, which makes it ideal for lifting a heavy amp on to it. Don't need to go far off the floor. I tested its weight-bearing ability by standing on it (definitely more than 150 lbs.) Also, I very carefully tested it with a VAC 70/70 300B dual-mono amp at 135 pounds. A neighbor helped me slide it from its temporary perch on top of a dead Sony ES receiver. No sag and no creaking sounds during transition. Not the most heavy duty amp stand nor particularly high end, but the Monoprice looks nice, and it works for my intended use. Did I mention it was $39.
