This is my first post as a member of the message board. I've been following the group via Youtube videos and this board.
Below are the 3 set-ups in our small cape cod. My wife has been very patient, but I've tried to make everything as aesthetically tolearable as I can.
I exclusively listen to classical music via CD and streaming from a NAS.
The first system is:
CEC TL5 Transport
ProJect Streambox ultra (not pictured)
Aqua La Voce S3 DAC
Linear Tube Audio Ultralinear Power Amp (pre-Fern & Roby chassis)
Linear Tube Audio MicroZOTL Preamp
Rel T5i Subwoofer
Devore Fidelity Super Nines
Second home theater and 2-channel system:
Sony UBP-X1100ES Blu Ray Player
PS Audio DirectStream Jr. with Network Bridge
Linear Tube Audio Z10 Integrated Amplifier
Denon AVR-3808CI
Rel T7x Subwoofer
Klipsch Heresy IV Speakers
Third System:
Chord 2Go + 2Yu Streamer/DAP
Naim CD5si CD Player
Rega Apollo CD Player (used as transport because Naim does not have a digital output)
Chord Qutest DAC
Yamaha A-S1200 Integrated Amplifier
Rel Tzero Subwoofer
Omega Mini Alnico Tower Speakers
To save money, I've relied on The Music Room and various dealers for used, refurbished, demo, B-stock, but also some new equipment. The only brick-and-mortar store I've visited is LTA.
After purchasing the Devores last month, I'm done. I first heard the Super Nines at CAF 2023 in the LTA room powered by an Ultralinear amp. Mark Schneider told me that when his team visited Devore, he assumed the higher sensitivity Orangutans would be good matches, but he preferred the Gibbon Super Nines. Listening to them at CAF was good enough for me.
When not listening to music working from home, I'm busy keeping my 18-month old toddler from destroying everything.
I'm open to any questions members have. Thanks to the members for keeping the Group active. Although I haven't been to a meeting, I appreciated the streamed meetings on Youtube.
