Definitely agree about the DS-003. I got one from Jose also and it is far and away the best sounding cartridge I've had in my system. Transients are exceptional - the first time you hear a cymbal is a real eye-opener.

I agree with the above. From what I have heard at Dr Vinyl. Jose is a master at finding incredible equipment that has what it takes to create musicality in your home system. The Optical cartridge is a game-changer. I am selling off equipment to be able to purchase a DS 003 as soon as I can

Agree about Jose's knack for finding equipment that sounds good and isn't outrageous in price. I've gotten a Backert Rhumba Extreme preamp, Tru-Glider tonearm, DS-003 and QLN Prestige One speakers from him. All incredible bang-for-the-buck I think.

The Bakert Labs preamps are intriguing, looking at the interior design they look well made of course the one I would like to try is 10K. The OLN speakers are the ones he had at CAF correct? I liked them better that the bigger horn types. The Tru glider is interesting also

I have heard the QLN's at other shows too. They are impressive At the Show in the Command Performace AV room, they had the new 5's and they packed a punch. I heard the 3's at Axpona two years ago and they were super also. For a stand-mount monitor, the One is very very good.

I'm sure Jose could answer that. The QLN Prestige Ones were the speakers Jose had in the Dr. Vinyl room at the CAF. They are very, very easy speakers to listen to. Hard to turn them off once you start listening. They seemed to pair very nicely with the McGary amp that Jose was using in his room.

I have never heard the McGary amp's sound bad in any system. I bought a trade-in that Mike upgraded for me to the new E spec. It sounds great driving either my Volti Razz or my Quad ESL (57's)
