So, what is everybody anticapting to see at CAF 2021? This will be the only show of this type, except for a recent show in Toronto, in North America this year. I expect it will get a lot of media coverage.
Post your thoughts and predictions.

Not wishing to contradict Gary in the video, but Montgomery County has "NOT" reinstated the mask mandate according to this WUSA report. They're trying to avoid a Yo-Yo effect which is wise. WUSA mandate report

Hey all, first post so here we go! Being a noob to this world, I have no idea what to expect. So let me ask- what is the theme here? Looking at sonic candy I'll never be able to own? Getting exposure to new technologies that will filter down the line? Should I be on the lookout for deals on audio gear? Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Somehow that answer both gladdens and depresses me at the same time, well done. I think for my part, I'm interested in expanding my view of the world of hifi beyond my normal craigslist-scouring, youtube-with-dinner-watching activities. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

So a bit confused here. Will masks be required at the show or not? Thanks.

To Calvin first welcome to the group! First you have to decide what you like in sound. Do not let someone else tell what you should like. I know in this overly commercialized world there is pressure to say “buy me I am the best” Audio shows are probably the worst place to make any evaluations. I find that usually there are about 10 percent of the rooms sound musical to me. I have been to quite a few shows in Denver, Chicago, Florida, and here. For me the show is about the people and the music. I renew old friendships and find new friends and music for me to experience. Go ahead and listen to the rooms and try to develop an ear that can recognize musicality. Numbers mean nothing to me, my ears have the final say. I am the one that listens to my system, and I have to be satisfied that what I am listening to sounds like what I think music should sound like.
To Larry For this weekend I have to trust what Gary said and masks are required. This is the decision that CAF and the hotel has made until that changes. it’s no big deal put a mask in your pocket or pick one up at the show. I believe many vendors will have masks to give out, some with logos printed on them (not substantiated, just what I heard in passing). Why anyone with more that two brain cells question personal safety is beyond my pay scale
