Lance Edwards and I recently decided to try the new optical cartridge system from DS Audio of Japan. I have been following this company for a couple of years Jose picked up the line and I decided to give it a try. 12 albums in and I am impressed what I like the most compared to my most recent listening Lyra Delos to Modwright PH9.0X is the depth of stage is awesome the high end has more detail cymbals sound more real with better decay, the bass I feel might not be as deep but does have better pace. Anyone else try the new 3rd generation?

I have the DS-003 (as do you judging by the photos). I'm running it in a Tru-Glider tonearm on a VPI Prime. The detail is extremely good - certainly the best I've heard. Far more life-like than anything I've had in my system. I have a second DS Audio energizer and Tru-Glider base coming in that I will use with the Prime in my second system. That will let me move the arm with the DS Audio from one system to the other.

Yes. Two Primes. The arm on one has a Soundsmith Zephyr MIMC Star ES going into a PS Audio Stellar Phono preamp (this one also has the Tru-Glider/DS Audio). The other has a Hana ML going into a Parasound JC3 Jr. Phono. I also have a Dual 1219, Technics 1200 MkII with a SME Type II Improved arm, a Vinyl Nirvana-rebuilt Thorens TD160 Super with a SME M2-9 arm, a Dual CS5000 and a Dual 505-2. Lots of turntables.

I've had no noise issues with my Stellar - perfectly quiet. Hard not to like the 003. Sounds really good.
