As you know, I am quite fond of Magnepan's entry level LRS speaker. I'm always looking to tweak things if possible to wring all the quality I can out of a product.
I have recently received an add-on accessory that I believe can be a very cost effective upgrade for the LRS (or any of the Magnepans).
A possible weak point of the LRS is the factory supplied stands which are kind of wobbly and do not fully present the LRS vertically. After some research I settled on the Magna Risers Airborne that come in at about $200.
You can read an in depth review and visit the Magna Risers website who were excellent to deal with and produce a very nice product.
Weak stands and poor quality crossover parts have always been a problem with Magnepan except for either the 20 or 30 series. The lessor models have always been built to a price point. Maggies have always been a great buy and always very satisfying. I heard the LRS again at the Florida show and they were fabulous.
