While at CAF, I visited the Ginko Audio room and fell in love with the Sextet subwoofers. I was amazed at how a pair of bookshelf speakers and 4 small subwoofers could fill such a large room with an incredible spacious sound stage. The Sextet is a collaborative effort from Gingko Audio, the Swarm from AudioKinesis, and unique cabinet construction from Jim Salk. I didn’t need the monitors and Vinh Vu (Gingko) sells the subs separately. The subs are rather small and could easily be mistaken for an end table. Let me tell you about Vinh Vu. When the cabinets finally came in from Salk Vinh Vu assembled and hand delivered them (drove down from New Jersey), he was coming to DC for the holidays so good timing. He then spent about 4 hours helping me on setup. I had sent him the dimensions of my room ahead of time so he was able to calculate a general setup and tweak fro there. I learned a great deal about room setup in that afternoon and his professional time alone was worth the cost. Vinh Vu and his company. Setup is rather critical with these 4 subs and I had no doubt the cabinets were well made but I was a little concerned about how much bass I could get from an 8” driver. The cumulative effect though is powerful. I keep turning the volume down on the subs because they are pressurizing my small room so much. Leaving the door open helps. Anyway I’m still tweaking things but My speakers have completely disappeared and the sound stage is huge. My system has never sounded better. I can highly recommend Gingko Audio. Lance
