Time to clear some stuff out. First up, an NHT Super 8 powered subwoofer. As you might have guessed, it's an 8 inch sub. Rated frequency response is 27-210 Hz, 110 Watts. Asking $100. The first shot includes an NHT B10d next to it.
Next is the B10d. It's a 10 inch, 300 Watt, 29-130 Hz sub. Asking $180. I used this as the sub for my desktop speakers, the Mark Levinson Red Rose Music Rosebuds, coming up soon. As you may know, NHT subs are known for being very musical.
The last NHT sub is a W2 with an A1 amplifier. The driver is a single 12 inch aluminum cone, frequency response is rated at 26-140 Hz, recommended power is 125 Watts. The A1 is mono amplifier made to be used with this and the other Evolution bass modules. Asking $400 for both. This belonged to a neighbor I helped get set up quite a while ago. They used the LFE output from a receiver to provide the crossover.
And then there's this pair of subs I designed using the Dayton Audio Ultimax 10 subs. The cabinets are custom, built to the specifications shown here:
As you can see, they are -2 dB at 20.68 Hz. They are dual voice coil drivers, each voice coil is 2 Ohms. Specs can be seen here. There is a single four pole Speakon connector on the back with both voice coils wired to it. You can drive the voice coils in series for a 4 Ohm load, in parallel for a 1 Ohm load, or like I did, drive each voice coil with an amplifier channel. Note that the amplifier channels need to be identical so your best off with a stereo amp with Y'd inputs. Asking $700 for the pair.
And finally there's the big boy. You want bass? You want this. It's the Parts-Express Dayton Audio 18 Inch dual voice coil Ultimax subwoofer in their pre-fab, but delivered flat, enclosure. I ran connections for both voice coils to the rear panel so I could drive each voice coil with an amplifier channel for maximum control and power. I used a Crown XLS1000 which is rated at 550 Watts per channel at 2 Ohms for a total of 1100 Watts. This sub can take it. Looking for the cost of the most expensive parts for the sub and cabinet - $600. You can have the Crown amp for and additional $150. You can see the Parts-Express pages for the driver and cabinet here.
I'm happy to demo anything for you. If you know my email that's the best way to reach me, if not, reply through the board.
