Those look interesting. If I recall correctly, you had (reviewed?) the Aurorus Borealis headphones a while back. How do the AMTs compare with those?

That was a while ago Larry and you know how good audio memory is, but I did find the Borealis a bit bass-heavy which is seductive at first.
the only other headphone I have here is the Sony MDR-7506 which I use for my video editing work. They are very good too and much more neutral than the Borealis were. The ESS headphones are a big jump up over the Sony's At $100 its a no brainer.

They are very good too and much more neutral than the Borealis were. The ESS headphones are a big jump up over the Sony's At $100 its a no brainer. The headphone I'm using most right now is the Hifiman Sundara. Decent sound and very comfortable for long-term use.

I apologize Chris for crimping your post but the price of some of this stuff gets me down. I do freely admit I am not a headphone guy and only use HP for testing and evaluating, I do not use them for general listening. Cant stand having my head squeezed like a pimple and the music in the center of my brain.

New technology is often expensive when first introduced but has a way of trickling down to less expensive products. Mercedes first introduced ABS brakes on their most expensive S-Class car. Over time ABS proliferated and is now on every car.
