At that 1/30/21 meeting we also discussed the Vladimir Horowitz 1945-50 "Private Collection Recordings," made available ahead of time as .wav files courtesy of John Gatski. There was some interesting discussion of both the music and the technology involved in bringing these old recordings into the modern world. I ran across an interview with the sound engineer, Jon M. Samuels, who transferred these old 78s to a digital format. Makes for interesting reading (link below). Of Carnegie Hall Concerts.
