Those of you who were with us live on last week's live chat with Soundsmith's Peter Ledermann heard some interesting background on B&O's Beogram 4000 turntable restoration for their 95th anniversary. Unfortunately, yours truly was asleep at the switch and forgot to start recording until 15 minutes into the call so it is lost to the ether. There is a very good writeup at the Rob Report about the painstaking process and of course Soundsmith's involvement in supplying the cartridges. Peter, had some very funny comments about Design, Danish engineers, and long winter nights. Before there was Jobs and Ive at Apple, B&O ruled the world in electronics design aesthetic.
