JT, I would go further and say that the trade in price DMP to PST is an insult to us DMP owners who spent serious coin on the DMP, which has never worked like you would expect for a unit which sells for $6k. Judging from the PS Audio forum, the PST has some serious issues with both the software and the disk handling unit. I noticed when you go to the "PerfectWave SACD Transport" page, the "add to cart" button is not functional. Yes it is sad they cant get thinks right I do like the equipment they make, I will say that the main reason they went direct I feel was because all the dealers were heavily discounting there inventory, the first piece I bought was the BHK preamp, I called around and a dealer in FL offered me one new in a box close to half off this was also the same with the DMP and JR dac so the value is there if your getting it to close to half off. Part of the reason I sold off the DMP and JR was the falling value on the used market I am bit of a gear hound and like keeping value when sold used. I also was offered a good price on Modwrights new LX500 with tube outputs and it is very close to the PSA stuff for a lot less and it plays every type of dis with no issues. I should of went the way Paul did and had Dave burn all my digital stuff to a hard drive but I will admit I am not that could with computer controlled audio, just never got into it Back when I worked at Shrader Sound in Georgetown and Myer-Emco most brands had "35-40 points" in them, plus an additional discount for prompt payment. So the manufacturer or distributor would receive about $60 for an item that retailed for $100. So by offering a $2500 trade in for a DMP for a PST, costing $4000, PS Audio is getting roughly what a dealer would have paid for the unit...AND receiving our DMP in trade. I don't like the idea that I own a $6000 piece of gear that probably can't be repaired, even if I don't use it that much. Though my DMP has some flaky software, from what I read on the PS Audio forums, they haven't addressed the problems with the PWT, so I'll sit tight for now.

I got up a bit earlier than usual this morning and checked the PS Audio PST forum and "jamesh" from PS Audio responded to "sixpack1":
:I’ll sell you a new PST for $3,499 if you trade in your DMP. :slightly_smiling_face:"
I suspect they aren't getting many takers for the $4k trade in...and probably aren't selling many new units at $6.5k.

That's good you going to get one? I see people are reporting more issues with the new player. I'm not in a hurry, with my Roon Nucleus Plus server, I hardly ever play disks, so I'll wait a bit longer to see if people stop reporting issues on the PS Audio forum.
