I'm interested in exploring hi-res and MQA, and want to store the files on my Buffalo NAS. I currently have several thousand music files that were loaded in via iTunes in ALAC format and are played back through Roon and Sonos.
Should I create separate folders for hi-res and MQA, or somehow put them into iTunes directory? I'm guessing if separate folders for hi-res and MQA (or even if those are best together in one folder) I shouldn't need separate folders for where I got the files (such as HD Tracks, etc.).
Any guidance that you can share I'll greatly appreciate. People's experiences with hi-res and MQA might make interesting topic for DCHFG meeting as well.
Thanks,
Bob Clarke

My feeling is that unless you have issues with some of your equipment that cannot handle hi-rez and MQA I would sort the music by type. Another thing to consider is that most player apps can do all the work of displaying music by genre, composer, etc. and also allow you to create playlists so that the physical location is moot.
